Bryce Exposed Photography Workshop
October 18-21, 2011

Silent City, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Sitting at the top of the Grand Staircase, Bryce Canyon is amazing and an ideal destination for a thrilling photography workshop.  The splendor of sunrise there is like no other place on earth.  Even from the rim you will be inspired but descend the trails a short distance and the scenery will take your breath away.  You can photograph the grand, sweeping vistas or the intimate details.  And surrounding Bryce are many exciting locations to explore such as Red Canyon and Kodachrome Basin.  Autumn is a magical time to be here and its clear days and the ever present possibility of a dusting of early snow enhance the possibility of great photography.  You will love it.

What to expect

We know Bryce Canyon and the surrounding area and we know how to photograph it.  Our photography workshop will give the opportunity to photograph the well known and not so well known locations in their best light.  You will be challenged to expand your creative and technical skills and receive all the personal attention you want.  Our workshop includes formal classes and informal in-the-field coaching.  And you can receive feedback on your photographs.  The days are long, tiring and extremely rewarding.

Itinerary

Our photography workshop starts Tuesday afternoon in Bryce Canyon City outside the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park.  Many of us will be coming from the Zion workshop that wrapped up earlier that day.  We will meet any new workshop students and hold a workshop orientation before heading into the park to shoot sunset over the Bryce Amphitheater.

Wednesday morning will find us in Bryce Canyon again to photograph one of the magnificent sunsets, some of the best in the world.  We'll photograph all sunsets at the Bryce Amphitheater at locations like Inspiration Point, Sunset Point and Sunrise Point.  In the afternoon we'll head down to Kodachrome Basin State Park to photograph some of the amazing formations there.

Thursday morning will put us back on the Bryce Amphitheater for another spectacular sunrise shoot.  Friday afternoon will take us to Red Canyon where we are able to hike among the red fins and hoodoos for some close-up photography.  We will shoot sunset there.

Friday morning will be our final sunrise on the Bryce Amphitheater.  The workshop will wrap up with lunch.
