A weak front was moving across the Sierra and
white billowy clouds were already drifting over
the peaks as we drove over Tioga Pass. As
we photographed at Olmsted point the cloud level
dropped until they washed over us. The
conditions were perfect for some spectacular
photography.
It was happening all around us and we spun like
tops, not wanting to miss anything.
Because the clouds were moving so quickly now,
you had to be fast. Beautiful images came
and went in a matter of seconds. I was
extremely fortunate to catch this image.
There was no second chance; it was gone in less
than 5 seconds.
I'm inspired by its feeling of power and the
majesty of nature.
