"Tapestries," I thought. "I'll photograph tapestries." To me this means photographs with color and texture. It was still early morning and the sun was still low. Clouds were already gathering for the afternoon storms and droplets of water still clung to the branches from the prior day's storms. I wandered through an area rich in textures and colors. Then I came upon this! "Impressionism," I murmured to myself as I looked through the camera's viewfinder. I sensed that this one was going to be a keeper.

At home I pushed the impressionism qualities of the image even further - vivid, bold strokes of colors, the immediacy of the moment, the quality of the light, the joy I felt. I journeyed way beyond realism to a place that people would surely question if it was a painting. This is a place that is clearly new territory for me, a place I've never been before, and a place to which I will enthusiastically return.
