In the harsh realities of the desert we may see only the tough hardiness of the life that inhabits land of extremes. We marvel at how plants and animals and the ancient peoples adapt. With so much energy focused on mere survival we don't think there could possibly be even a fleeting moment for delicate elegance and grace. Ah, but there is. How marvelous this duet of the tenacious with the constant, this interconnection of a living thing and harsh stone on our astonishing earth.
