I’ve always been interested in photography. I’ve enjoyed sharing my
pictures on WebShots.com and they’ve been generally well received. But it’s always been informal.
In March of this year that all changed. I attended a photography workshop in Death Valley. It was led by one of the finest landscape photographers today –
Alain Briot. He is a true artist and a superb photographer. I took some of my photographs for his review, thinking
they were pretty good but finding that the bar was way higher than I ever dreamed, nearly out of site. If I wanted to
turn out really good work, fine art quality work, I was going to have to get a lot better.
So during the time between March and now, becoming a fine art photographer has been my
passion or should I say obsession. I am continuing my studies with Alain and he has been instrumental in helping me
take my photography to the next level. So I now have a new goal. I need to continue building data warehouses for
about ten more years to get my daughter through college. And then I can quit and become a full time landscape photographer.
That means I have ten years to grow as an artist, build a business and make a name for myself.
I’m very excited and my wife is very supportive. I’m also feeling proud
enough of my work to take the next step and offer it for sale. I have several pictures hanging on our walls here at
home and we all take a great deal of pleasure from them. To help get off the ground I created this website.
There are a number of prints that I feel are good enough to offer to the public. So I invite you to visit my website.
I’d sure appreciate your feedback. I’d like to make it a site that is
comfortable to visit.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.
